Amazing experience. Extremely safe, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Knowledgeable (and friendly) guides to explore the kelp forests with. Would dive here with them again in a heartbeat!
Catalina Dive Shop is definitely a premium dive shop/guide. They set up the dive and all the arrangements, they have a small stow area, shower facilities and all equipment needed – they have this down to a T. The service is great and on time. DM Ranes is calm, knowledgeable, and knows the area well. Thank you for a great diving experience! Off the Casino Point, we stepped down to explore the Kelp Forest amazing visual like giant redwoods except it unending beautiful flowing green kelp. It was fantastic, seeing the different marine life, including the golden Garibaldi everywhere, moray eel, and beautifully colored nudibranch, and lobsters. We even fed the abalone, which gobbled up a piece of kelp. We also dropped by the Jacques Cousteau Plaque and a bit deeper like some sea debri or wreck teeming with marine life—no giant sea bass maybe next time. What an incredible adventure! Kelp forest I will be back!
We had a wonderful diving experience with Catalina Divers Supply. We did the “Scrambler” boat on Monday with Mark, Bob & Tina, and Guided Shore Dives on Tuesday with Suzy & Bob. So much fun! This was my first cool water diving. The kelp is beautiful. We saw Giant Sea Bass, lots of fun Garibaldi fish, and even a beautiful Spanish Shawl nudibranch! I also got to feed an abalone! Very grateful to Catalina Divers Supply for their quick, easy and affordable snorkel gear rentals. I also appreciate that the staff primed me on what to expect in the kelp, and kindly helped me rent a better fitting mask than the one I started with that wasn't sealing well. They made sure I had a diving bag to tote around all my rented gear to different spots on the island, which was also very helpful. Would HIGHLY recommend and can't wait to return myself!!! :)
